Rangers ace Andy Halliday says the team must step up.

Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday has warned Rangers must deliver results and talk counts for nothing.
Rangers replaced Graeme Murty after a terrible end to the season and replaced him with Steven Gerrard, a move Halliday acknowledges is a risk, but not particularly more so than any other.
He said: “I think any appointment as a Rangers manager is a risk, but I was all for it and I think it is an excellent appointment for the club.

Halliday added: “Seven players have come in and we are seeing the quality they have brought to the squad already.
“It is certainly a positive start, but enough talking has been done and it’s about time we walk the walk now.”

Halliday has certainly been round the block a few times at Rangers and has been scarred by their failures in the past.
That is part of why he is being cautious not to get swept up in pre-season promises and the early feel good factor.
What happens on the pitch is what really matters, and an early test will come in three weeks when the Gers play their first Europa League qualifier.
