Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have a must-win Europa League clash tonight.

Andy Halliday has joked that he expects ‘carnage’ in Vienna after being told how many Rangers fans were visiting Austria tonight.

Rangers visit Rapid Wien in a must-win Europa League clash as Steven Gerrard’s side look to book a spot in the last 32 of the competition.

The Ibrox outfit won’t be short on support after it was revealed that potentially 10,000 fans of the Glasgow club would be in and around the Austrian city this evening, but only 2,500 of those will be inside the Allianz Stadion.

Gers fans certainly intend to paint the town blue and here is what midfielder Halliday told the club’s YouTube channel when told about the numbers.

“A bit of carnage. Rangers fans have always followed the football club in their numbers for many-a-year so I’m not surprised.”

It really is a stunning commitment by the fans to travel in their thousands, with it being less than two weeks until Christmas.

And what a gift it would be if they witnessed their beloved Rangers reach the knockout phase of the tournament.

The Blues, under Pedro Caixinha, didn’t progress past the first round of Europa League qualifiers last term, but what a difference Gerrard has made.
