Andy Gray has urged Tottenham to tie down the ‘absolutely sensational’ Heung-Min Son to a new contract, as he told beIN SPORTS 11 (25/10/20 at 8:15 pm)

Whilst Spurs let three-goals slip at one end last week, at the other end, a certain South Korean international is making opposition defenders have sleepless nights.

Whatever the state of the game, Son comes across as a player who never stops attacking that penalty area, whether he is running in behind or putting pressure on the backline.

Former Aston Villa and Scotland striker Gray was raving about Son and thinks he doesn’t seem like the type of individual who will want to leave North London anyway.

“100%, you cannot afford to lose Son,” Gray told beIN SPORTS. “He has been absolutely sensational.

“He never really misses football matches. Always available unless he is on duty for Korea. But always there. Hugely vital to keep him happy at the club.

“There is absolutely no reason why he wouldn’t [want to stay] in all honesty. A lot of teams would want him. But he obviously loves the club, loves living in London, there are a lot of good things such as playing in a magnificent stadium every other week.”

Son has also formed a quite deadly partnership with Harry Kane, who has turned provider since the start of the season.

What has been most impressive about Son is that whenever Kane has been sidelined with an injury, he has stepped up and carried the club forward.

He has been a previously underrated figure but it does seem as though he is now receiving the praise for outstanding performance after outstanding performance.
