Wolves suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Huddersfield.
Andy Gray has told BeIN Sports that Wolverhampton Wanderers made it “too easy” for Huddersfield Town on Sunday afternoon and has suggested Nuno Espirito Santo should make changes against Cardiff City.
Wolves suffered a 2-0 loss to David Wagner’s side, with Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy grabbing a brace for the Terriers in a crucial win that sees Huddersfield move out of the relegation zone and up into 14th place.
After an excellent start that saw Wolves lose only one of their first eight Premier League matches, Santo’s side have slipped to picking up just one point from their last five games.
Wolves legend Gray reckons Santo has to make changes to his starting line-up, claiming as many as five players could be dropped after Sunday’s loss.
“Nuno has got to assess his team properly,” Gray said. “He’s got to gather all the data that he has, and ask himself, do I need to make changes before Friday because they’re up quick against Cardiff.
“Do I need to change four or five? Or was this just a bad night. One point from 15 suggests he may have to freshen his starting line-up up. Because that’s not good. This was too easy for Huddersfield.
“David Wagner would have fancied it and set his team out to play in a positive manner. But he could not have thought it would be that easy. It basically was easy.”
Wolves remain in a comfortable 11th place, despite their poor run of form. But Santo will be fully aware that his side’s inability to score is costing them – Wolves have only scored 12 goals in 13 games.
The Midlands outfit are next in action against fellow newly-promoted side Cardiff City on Friday night, who sit in 19th place after losing 1-0 to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
