Spurs come into the match after beating Inter Milan on Wednesday night.
Andy Gray has told BeIN Sports that he does not believe Tottenham Hotspur are firing on all cylinders yet ahead of Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal.
Spurs have began the Premier League season in excellent form – their best start to a league campaign in their history. They come into Sunday’s hotly-contested clash after wins against Chelsea and Inter Milan.
Despite failing to make any signings in the summer, Mauricio Pochettino has guided his Spurs side to third in the Premier League and only five points behind Manchester City.
He has rejuvenated the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura but Gray does not believe Spurs have played the way they are known for as of yet – stating the only example of Spurs’ free-flowing football was against Chelsea.
“They’re going to fly into the weekend,” Gray said. “Bring it on, they want to play. That’s what it’s like when you get on a roll. I said a couple of weeks ago, Tottenham have done brilliantly, best start to a season.
“But I haven’t seen them play yet. Not the way Tottenham usually do. I saw it against Chelsea for the first time this season, and it’s no surprise that Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen all started for the first time.”
Spurs earned a 3-1 win over Chelsea, with Son, Kane and Alli all finding the back of the net. Eriksen then got himself on the score sheet on Wednesday, coming off the bench to score the only goal of the game against Inter.
A win for Spurs could see them leapfrog Liverpool into second place, with the Reds sitting only two points ahead. Liverpool take on Merseyside rivals Everton on Sunday at Anfield.
