Andy Gray told beIN SPORTS 11 (02/11/20 at 8:55 pm) that Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes caused Leeds ‘so many problems’ during their 4-1 win at Elland Road tonight.

It was a blistering start from the away side, who were onto Leeds like a rash, with Vardy pouncing on a mistake and feeding Barnes for the opening goal inside two minutes.

Usually, it’s Leeds who are in the face of their opponents at high speed, but during the opening stages, it was Leicester who were causing havoc, as Tielemans doubled his side’s lead after 21 minutes.

Whilst Leeds did pull a goal back in the second half, Vardy added another and Tielemans netted from the spot-kick for his brace to make it a miserable night for the Yorkshire club.

Former Aston Villa and Scotland striker Gray thinks Brendan Rodgers front two were a ‘pest’ for the hosts.

“Those two have been a pest to Leeds tonight,” said Gray. “Barnes has almost being playing from the left, but infield and he has got in contact with Vardy, time and time again.

“The two of them, in tandem with each other, have caused Leeds so many problems.”

This is the beauty of the Premier League because last week, Leeds were celebrating their best performance of the season when they ended Aston Villa’s 100% start to the campaign.

But fast forward to today and they have suffered a defeat which perhaps highlights the difficulties they will face in England’s top-flight this term.

Whilst Marcelo Bielsa will be disappointed with how his team started the match, they were up against two quality performers in Vardy and Barnes. And, at the end of the day, they would have taken such a start to the season if it was handed to them before a ball was kicked.
