Liverpool are leading their title rivals Manchester City by five points.

Andy Gray claims only Aymeric Laporte would get into Liverpool’s backline as he was critical of Manchester City’s defence following their defeat to Norwich City
Pep Guardiola’s side conceded three goals against the newly-promoted side, who were relentless when they got in the attacking third as they duly punished their opponents
City are without the injured Laporte, who is set to be on the sidelines for a long period of time, whilst Vincent Kompany is no longer at the club.
Former Scotland striker Gray believes the defence of both Liverpool and City is the ‘main difference’ between the two Premier League title-chasing sides.
“It’s one of the main differences for me between Liverpool and Manchester City [the defence],” Gray told BEIN Sports. “There’s only Lapore, would get anywhere near Liverpool’s back four and he’s not there for six months.”

The Reds are currently five points ahead of second-placed City, with Jurgen Klopp’s side beating Newcastle United during the lunchtime game on Saturday.
John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi, who made a mistake for Norwich’s second goal, are Man City’s only recognised centre-back pairing.
If the duo continue to show this kind of form in these coming weeks then it’ll prove to be very problematic and can potentially result in Liverpool opening up that five-point gap by a bigger margin.
