Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo has made a positive start to his Rangers career.

Shey Ojo of Rangers celebrates scoring his team's fourth goal during the pre season friendly match between Rangers and Oxford United at Ibrox Stadium on July 07, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Andy Firth has joked on Instagram that Shey Ojo’s goal has ‘gone to his head already’ as Rangers secured a 4-0 win over St Joseph’s in their Europa League qualifier on Tuesday.

Steven Gerrard’s side comfortably dispatched their opponents in the first-round qualifier with Rangers opening the scoring after 50 minutes through Ryan Jack and Ojo getting his name on the scoresheet six minutes later.

Connor Goldston and substitute Alfredo Morelos made sure of the win later on in the game, with the latter getting some much-needed minutes under his belt.

After the game, Firth sent this message about Ojo from his personal Instagram account, as the Gers will be looking to remain dominant for the return leg at Ibrox.

It has been a positive start to life at Rangers for Ojo and Gerrard will be looking for a lot more ahead of the new Scottish Premiership campaign.

Former Rangers man Ryan Kent enjoyed a successful spell at the club last season and if Ojo can match or even surpass his displays then it will bode very well for the club.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is seen during the Scottish Premier League match between Rangers and Hibernian at Ibrox Stadium on May 05, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Nonetheless, Rangers have a very healthy lead going into the reverse leg of this Europa League qualifier, as they will be looking to take some momentum into the start of the new Premiership season.

The Gers, who lost to Kilmarnock on the last day of last season, will open their season when they travel to Rugby Park as Gerrard’s side aim to stop their Old Firm rivals from winning nine-in-a-row.

It has to be remembered that Rangers started the season well last time out only to falter towards the second half of the campaign. If they can sort that out then they’ll be a serious force next term.
