As announced on Rangers’ official website today, Steven Gerrard’s side have secured the services of Firth on an 18-month contract.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper started his club football career at Liverpool and worked with Rangers boss Gerrard during his spell as the Under-18 coach at the Reds.
The youngster left Liverpool in the summer of 2018 and joined Barrow thereafter.
Firth has said that it is a dream come true for him to join Rangers, and has also observed that the Ibrox club are more successful than Liverpool.
Firth told Rangers’ official website: “It’s been a long couple of days while it’s all been in the pipeline, but I’m just delighted to join a club of this stature. It really is a dream come true.
“Obviously I had the experience as a kid at Liverpool, being in and around the Reserves, but to join a club which is definitely just as big as Liverpool, more successful, and to be in and around the first team, it’s just a massive thing for me and I’m just made up to be here.”

More successful
Liverpool are a massive and are probably bigger in stature than Rangers – after all, they are in the Premier League – but the Gers are indeed more successful than the Gers.
The Reds have won the league title 18 times, the FA Cup on seven times, the Football League Cup eight times, the European Cup/Champions League five times and the UEFA Cup on three occasions.
As for Rangers, the Gers have won the league title in Scotland 54 times, the Scottish Cup 33 times, the Scottish League Cup on 27 times, and the European Cup Winners’ Cup once.
