Glasgow Rangers’ reserves produced a superb victory, with the January signing keeping a clean sheet for the Ibrox side.
Andy Firth has taken to Twitter to express his delight at helping Rangers’ reserves to a 2-0 win against Celtic on Monday, with the goalkeeper making an exciting prediction about some of the members of the squad.
The Gers have taken themselves to within two wins of securing the league title with the victory. Glenn Middleton continued to prove why he should perhaps be getting more chances in the first-team by scoring both of the goals.
Middleton was the one player within the side that has featured for the senior side on a regular basis in the past. But after the win, Firth took to social media to suggest that there are a number of names that the fans need to keep an eye out for in the coming years…
It certainly appears to be an exciting time to be a youngster at Rangers. The likes of Nathan Young-Coombes, Josh McPake and Dapo Mebude are amongst those who look destined to be playing first-team football in the future, and the fans could probably add several other names to that list.
For Firth, his display has done his first-team prospects no harm at all. The 22-year-old was an intriguing addition to the squad during the January transfer window, but the coming weeks could be a real opportunity for the former Liverpool trainee.
It would probably not be a huge surprise if Wes Foderingham was considering his future having spent this season as Allan McGregor’s understudy. It remains to be seen if he has any interest in leaving Ibrox, but if he does, there is a chance for Firth to show why he should be promoted next year.
