The 17-year-old is yet another exciting Glasgow Rangers prospect with real potential.

Rangers have so many exciting young players coming through the ranks right now that it would be easy to forget a few, meaning that it is up to the talented teenagers to force their way into manager Pedro Caixinha’s thinking the only way they can – with notable performances for the second string.

One such performance came earlier this week when Rangers’ under-20 side came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against St Mirren, with 17-year-old forward Andy Dallas the pick of the bunch.

The teenager scored the second goal after his tenacity ensured he won the ball back before smashing it home, and his quick-thinking later led to the winner, which came courtesy of Serge Atakayi.

It is the latter that some Rangers fans are keen to see get his first-team bow in what remains of this season. However on recent evidence Dallas is also staking a claim to run out at Ibrox.

While Caixinha will not want to lose any more games this season, with nothing of note left to play for he can experiment somewhat.

That means giving the next generation a chance and Dallas, although young, deserves a few minutes in a tactic that could motivate him to achieve bigger and better things next season and beyond.
