Leeds United have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far.

Andy Couzens has taken to social networking site Twitter to state that he hopes that Leeds United sign a central defender next.

Leeds have been quite busy in the summer transfer window so far and have made a number of signings, as they aim to finish in the top six of the Championship next season after narrowly missing out on the playoffs during the 2016-17 campaign.

Among the players that the West Yorkshire outfit have recruited so far this summer are midfielder Mateusz Klich, goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, attacker Ezgjan Alioski and Vurnon Anita, who can operate as a full-back or as a defensive midfielder.

An area that Leeds have yet to address this summer is central defence. Although Pontus Jansson has been signed on a permanent contract, the return of Kyle Bartley to his parent club Swansea City following a loan spell last season means that the Whites need a player in that position.

Former Leeds midfielder Couzens, who is 42 years of age, has stated on Twitter that he hopes that the Whites sign a centre-back next.
