Former Leeds United man Andy Couzens has revealed on Twitter that he would sell midfielder Liam Bridcutt if he had the choice.
The 28-year-old has been linked (via The Sun) with a move to Middlesbrough this summer in a switch which would see him reunited with Garry Monk, who left Leeds last month.
And Couzens, who spent four years at the Elland Road club in the 1990s, has said on Twitter that he would let the former Sunderland midfielder – who missed 24 Championship games through injury last season – leave this summer.
The fact that Bridcutt only managed 22 Championship starts should be a worry for Leeds, with the Scotland international’s season only beginning in December last term really.
But new Leeds coach Thomas Christiansen has the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira as central midfield options, as well as Eunan O’Kane, so the Dane might well sell up.
But the Whites fans would no doubt be disappointed to see him leave, and a switch to Monk’s Boro side would really sting, given the lingering resentment toward the 38-year-old following his shock resignation last month.
