Leeds United signed the 28-year-old on Thursday evening.

Andy Couzens has suggested on Twitter that he is pleased with Leeds United’s capture of Vurnon Anita.

The 28-year-old was snapped up on a Bosman by Leeds on Thursday following his release from Newcastle United earlier in the summer.

The Netherlands international, who helped the Magpies win Premier League promotion from the Championship last season, signed a three-year deal at Elland Road.

He is Leeds’ fifth summer signing, following the likes of Mateusz Klich, Madger Gomes and Felix Wiedwald to Yorkshire, while Hadi Sacko signed a permanent deal early in June.

And Couzens says that he is pleased with Anita’s arrival.

Anita, who can play left-back, right-back and midfield, joined on the same day that Charlie Taylor completed his move to Premier League side Burnley.

The fact he was free, combined with his versaility, means it was pretty much a no-brainer by United to sign him.
