Former Leeds United midfielder Andy Couzens has taken to Twitter tonight in order to react to the Whites’ 2-2 draw away at Derby County this evening.

Leeds travelled to Pride Park in search of three points after coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Bristol City on Sunday, as Paul Heckingbottom looked to claim his first win as Leeds boss.

After early Derby pressure, Leeds did snatch the opening goal as Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored yet again, heading home Stuart Dallas’ cross before the Whites failed to deal with a long ball, allowing Andreas Weimann to equalise.

Kasey Palmer of Derby scores to make it 2-2 during the Sky Bet Championship match between Derby County and Leeds United at iPro Stadium on February 21, 2018 in Derby, England.

Leeds did look to have claimed a late victory when Ezgjan Alioski broke away and scored at the second time of asking, but there was a sting in the tail as Leeds failed to clear Tom Huddlestone’s hopeful ball in, and Kasey Palmer stabbed home a late equaliser.

Having led the game twice and twice been pegged back, Leeds will be hugely frustrated to have only left Pride Park with a point, but manager Heckingbottom will surely see this as another building block against one of the division’s top teams.

Leeds now sit eight points off the play-offs and look set to miss out on the top six, but Heckingbottom can look to learn about his new side and prepare for next season, though he will absolutely want his first win sooner rather than later.

After the game, former Leeds midfielder Andy Couzens took to Twitter to offer his reaction, looking as positives such as Samu Saiz’s return from suspension and a fully fit squad to pick from ahead of the weekend game against Brentford.

Couzens added praise for striker Lasogga, suggesting that the summer signing is getting better and better not only in front of goal, but also with his link-up play and will finish chances if given them.
