Leeds made a bright start under new manager Thomas Christiansen, but they have struggled to maintain the momentum in recent weeks, having lost their last three Championship games.
Couzens felt that Leeds were “just not good enough” all over the pitch, and observed that the players looked tired.
Leeds owner and chairman Andrea Radrizzani urged the team to learn from mistakes, and Couzens, echoing his sentiments, said that plenty of work remains to be done.
The Whites find themselves sixth in the Championship table, only six points behind league leaders Wolves. In a marathon race like the Championship, all it requires is a run of good results to turn things around.
Having said that, Leeds should have at least taken a point from their last game, and the players are to blame for failing to take their chances.
They enjoyed a lion-share of possession during the game (56%), and attempted 15 shots, according to BBC Sport. Also, Reading goalkeeper Vito Mannone saved an injury time penalty from Pablo Hernandez.
