Former Leeds United midfielder Andy Couzens thinks there could have been a third Whites player in the Championship’s team of the season.
Defender Pontus Jansson and top scorer Chris Wood were the two Leeds inductees, alongside Brighton & Hove Albion trio David Stockdale, Lewis Dunk and Anthony Knockaert, Newcastle United duo Dwight Gayle and Jonjo Shelvey, Huddersfield Town pair Tommy Smith and Aaron Mooy and Fulham’s Scott Malone.
But according to Couzens, who spent four years at Leeds in the early 1990s, the Whites could have easily had the most representatives.
Discussing the chosen 11, he told this week’s The 72 Show, which is part of the V2 Football Podcast: “The one which I might have said, potentially, would have been our ‘keeper. (Robert) Green’s been outstanding.
“He made a bit of a hash in the Newcastle game at home but in general he’s been an absolute rock at the back for us this year, so I’d have put him in there.”

Green’s signing was ridiculed in some places, although the former England number 1 has silenced his critics with 15 clean sheets in 41 league outings.
The 37-year-old, who could seal his fourth promotion to the Premier League this season, recently agreeed a one-year contract extension at Elland Road.
Where does Green rank among Leeds United’s 2016-17 recruits?
