Eunan O’Kane was dropped for Leeds United’s win over Middlesbrough – just their second victory since September.

Andy Couzens has suggested on Twitter that Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen should continue to bench midfielder Eunan O’Kane following Sunday’s win over Middlesbrough.
Leeds ended a three-match losing streak with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Garry Monk’s side at Elland Road, with goals from Pablo Hernandez and Egzjan Alioski doing the damage.
O’Kane, brought to Yorkshire by Monk in the summer of 2016, started all three games in that disastrous sequence but Christiansen benched him for the win over Boro.

And although Couzens admits that he likes the Republic of Ireland international, the ex-Leeds man suggested on Twitter that the Whites head coach should not be in a rush to bring him back.
It was a timely and much needed win for United, who moved level on points with Middlesbrough who occupy the fourth and final playoff spot.

The big thing for Leeds is whether this victory can spark a big turnaround before Christmas and set them up for a strong second half to the campaign – it has to.
Christiansen’s side had lost six of their last seven Championship games prior to Sunday and a good run of form to end the calendar year is hugely important in order to maintain their promotion hopes.
