Andy Cole has slammed Bruno Fernandes for having ‘another moan’ during Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday at St James’ Park.

In the first half, Bruno Fernandes appealed for a penalty after complaining about being clipped inside the box by Fabian Schar, only for the on-field referee to wave play on and dismiss the penalty shout.

The Manchester United 28-year-old was adamant that he should have been awarded a spot-kick and was protesting at the referee moments later.

The boisterous Newcastle United home crowd were having none of it and they made sure to make their feelings clear towards Man United’s creator.

This isn’t the first time Fernandes has decided to have a moan or two because he has a habit of getting on the back of the opposition or complaining about absolutely everything and anything.

But even Manchester United legends are calling out his actions, with Andy Cole sharing his thoughts, as he told Premier League Productions (02/04/23 at 5:30 pm).

“Nowhere near a penalty,” said Cole. “I think as players we know if it’s a penalty or not because his teammates would be supporting him 100%.

“It’s not a penalty, but it’s Bruno (Fernandes) having another moan up.”

ANOTHER DAY IN THE OFFICE FOR FERNANDES

The Portugal international has such a character that many opposition fans hate, but if he’s on your team, then you want him to continue winding that toy up.

Fernandes’s actual penalty shout wasn’t a spot-kick and the right call was made, so more fool him.

But, in the end, it was those in Newcastle colours jumping with joy at St James’ Park, with the Magpies securing a 2-0 win, thanks to second-half goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson.
