Andy Carroll frustrated with his lack of game time at West Ham United this season

West Ham United striker Andy Carroll looks likely to start against Tottenham Hotspur later tonight.

Andy Carroll has told the Daily Mail, that he has found things very frustrating at West Ham United this season.

Carroll had not started for seven matches prior to West Ham’s outing against West Bromwich Albion two days’ ago, but the target-man may just have sealed his place in David Moyes’ starting line-up now.

Carroll scored twice for West Ham against West Brom, as Moyes’ side picked up a dramatic 2-1 victory.

And Carroll feels that he has now shown what he can do, after bagging a brace against the Baggies.

“It’s been very frustrating,” Carroll said. “I’ve been sitting on the bench, it’s been tough. I’ve been wanting to play. I’ve been wanting to get there and start.

“It’s hard when you’re coming on for the last 20 minutes. I’ve probably been making an impact but it’s not really what I want to do, I don’t want to be an impact player coming off the bench.

“When I was called upon I felt like I needed to show what I was about and try and get back into the starting 11, and scoring the two goals and getting the win for the lads was great.”

Carroll is now likely to be given the nod to start for West Ham against Tottenham Hotspur later this evening.

The Hammers will be looking to build on their victory over the Baggies to put further distance between themselves at the bottom three.

West Ham beat Tottenham the last time the two sides met, as they came from behind to win in the EFL Cup.

However their task tonight remains a tough one, as Spurs are desperate for the three points as they push for a top four place.
