Andy Carroll was involved as West Ham United secured Premier League survival in their latest clash.

David Moyes’ men ensured that they would be playing in the top flight again next year as they beat the Foxes 2-0 at the King Power Stadium, with goals from Joao Mario and Mark Noble ensuring that the Hammers took the three points home with them.

The match also saw Carroll get a chance to impress for the final 15 minutes. BBC Sport reported last week that Carroll had been sent home from training after a row with David Moyes in the wake of their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, but they clearly managed to patch up their differences as the striker was given a chance at Leicester.
And following the game, Carroll paid tribute to the fans, conceding that he was not expecting to receive such a positive reception from those who travelled to the game.
“Saturday was brilliant,” he told the club’s official website. “For me personally, coming on after they were singing my name while I was warming up on the touchline was really good. I didn’t really expect it, to be honest, but our fans chose to get behind me and it was nice to hear.

“It was a good game for us. The lads stuck together and we deserved it, really. I thought we played well and it was a good day all round. The fans were brilliant, we were brilliant and the other results went our way, too.”
It could be an interesting summer for the Hammers as they will undoubtedly not want to leave it so long next year to ensure that they will remain at the highest level.
One of the questions perhaps facing the Irons hierarchy is what to do with Carroll. On his day, the former Liverpool man can look unplayable, capable of causing all sorts of problems that he or his teammates benefit from.
However, he has only managed three goals this term and that is not the kind of return that will prove to Moyes that he simply cannot be left out of the team in future. And while the West Ham fans were fully behind the striker at the weekend, perhaps there would be sections of the fanbase who would support a sale if the club received a substantial bid for him during the upcoming window.
