Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend suggested on talkSPORT (8:15am, October 9, 2020) that Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin would have been worried about his future when Carlo Ancelotti was appointed the manager of the Toffees.
In red-hot form
Ancelotti was handed the Everton managerial role back in December 2019, and the Toffees are doing well under the Italian tactician.
Calvert-Lewin has taken to his game to another level under the former Real Madrid boss and is banging in the goals for fun at the moment.
According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old striker has scored six goals in four Premier League matches so far this season, while during the 2019-20 campaign, the youngster scored 13 goals and provided one assist in the league.
The youngster also scored for England against Wales in a friendly international at Wembley Stadium in London on Thursday.
It was the striker’s debut for the Three Lions, and his performance overall was very good as well.

Andros Townsend’s take
Palace winger Townsend has praised Ancelotti for putting his trust in Calvert-Lewin, and believes that the striker would have been worried about his future when the Italian was appointed the manager of the Merseyside club.
Townsend said about Calvert-Lewin on talkSPORT (8:15am, October 9, 2020): “I think as well when Ancelotti did join, he would have been worried.
“He would have thought, ‘Right, he is going to come in, he is going to buy a £50 million top-class striker, and I am finished’.
“But from day one, Ancelotti has put his trust in him, and as a player, you don’t want any more than that.”
