Andros Townsend has told Jack Wilshere that he deserves all the stick he gets from Tottenham Hotspur fans on the ITV Football podcast.
Wilshere opened up on how he has become used to getting angry messages from Tottenham fans, who enjoy ridiculing him.
But Townsend, who used to play for Spurs, teased the former Arsenal man for bringing the criticism on himself.
“You know what, it used to make me angry,” Wilshere said. “I know for example Tottenham fans are always going to have that banter with me.”
Before Townsend interjected: “I’ve got to say you deserve that from what you said after the FA Cup!”
“I can take that,” Wilshere added. “But it was the silly articles from certain journalists that used to wind me up. But now I feel I’m mentally strong to deal with the social media side of things.”
Wilshere did indeed wind Spurs fans up when he was videoed starting a ‘what do we think of Tottenham’ chant at an Arsenal trophy celebration.

Since then many Spurs supporters have mocked Wilshere, as his career has rather gone downhill.
Wilshere has been badly affected by numerous injuries, and the England international now is a free agent after being released by West Ham United.
Wilshere did go on to compliment Spurs on the podcast, though, and actually tipped them up as title contenders this season, with Jose Mourinho’s side currently leading the way in the Premier League.
