Crystal Palace defeated Huddersfield Town 1-0 in the EFL Cup tie.

Crystal Palace progressed into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after beating Huddersfield Town 1-0 at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night.
It was also the first victory for Palace under new manager Roy Hodgson.
The Eagles took the lead in the 13th minute of the match through Bakary Sako, and kept the score-line intact till the final whistle.

Huddersfield were dominant in the second half, and enjoyed an overall 54% of ball possession. They also attempted 11 shots during the match, compared to seven from Crystal Palace, according to BBC Sport.
Obviously, Palace are lacking in confidence at the moment, but Hodgson says that he sees light at the end of the tunnel.

Palace fans also welcomed back defender Pape Souare, who made his first appearance for the Eagles (as a substitute) since breaking his thighbone and jaw in a horrific car crash last September.
Andros Townsend, 26, took to Twitter after the match, to express his reaction. He also welcomed back Souare, saying “what an inspiration”.
