Crystal Palace will face Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League this weekend.

Palace will take on Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Townsend joined the Magpies from Tottenham Hotspur in the January 2016 and left for Palace in the summer of 2016 following their relegation to the Championship.

The 26-year-old England international has admitted that he is not excepting a great reception at St. James’ Park, and judging by some of the comments from Newcastle fans on social networking site Twitter, he has the right idea.
“I’m not sure I’ll get a good reception but I had a fantastic time there,” Townsend told The Belfast Telegraph.
“Unfortunately it didn’t end well but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there with the fans and I’m looking forward to going there and see a few familiar faces. I’ll enjoy it.”

Townsend is a good winger and did relatively well for Newcastle during the short spell he was at St. James’ Park.
However, one could understand his decision to leave the Magpies at the time. Newcastle had just been relegated, and it is not very tempting to play in the Championship even for a season.
