Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend has given his take on Twitter on the disallowed goal of Wolverhampton Wanderers against Leeds United, and so has Stephen Elliott.

Wolves got the better of Leeds 1-0 away from home at Elland Road in the Premier League on Monday evening.

Raul Jimenez’s shot on target was headed into his own net by Kalvin Phillips in the 70th minute, and that proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Earlier in the second half, Roman Saiss thought that he had scored when he slammed home from a Daniel Podence cross.

However, according to BBC Sport, ‘after taking guidance from VAR Michael Oliver, referee David Coote ruled it out for offside’.

It did not matter in the end, as Wolves picked up the three points courtesy of Jimenez’s deflected effort.

Palace winger Townsend was following the match, and so was former Wolves forward Elliott, and both have given their take on the disallowed goal.

The result on Monday evening means that Wolves are now sixth in the Premier League table with nine points from five matches, while Leeds find themselves two points behind in 10th.
