The West Ham United forward has been out for four months with an Achilles injury.
West Ham ace Andy Yarmolenko spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared his gratitude for the way in which the Hammers fans have stuck by him during his prolonged injury absence.
The 29-year-old joined the Hammers in the summer from Borussia Dortmund, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £17.5 million, but he has only played 10 competitive games for the east London outfit.
Yarmolenko has not played for West Ham since their defeat to Tottenham in October last year, and he is not expected to be back until next season.
The Ukraine international spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared how he has been receiving messages of support from West Ham fans on a regular basis throughout his injury ordeal:
“I’ve had so many positive messages from West Ham fans. For me it really helps. West Ham supporters are really passionate and I think we, as a group of players, we really appreciate that.”
Yarmolenko’s injury came at the worst possible time, just as he was starting to show what he is capable of.
And the Ukrainian will be hoping that he returns to his best both physically and mentally next season.
