Leicester are interested in signing Zorya Luhansk goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, with the player’s agent sharing a lengthy list of club’s who are keeping tabs on the 19-year-old stopper, as quoted by Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato.

The Foxes currently have Kasper Schmeichel, 31, as their first choice goalkeeper, and their two back-up stoppers have a combined age of 63, so the addition of a younger glove-man would certainly make sense.

Lunin’s representative Irakli Khvedeliani told reporters how the east Midlands outfit are keeping a close eye on his client, with a view to making a summer bid, as quoted by Italian publication Calcio Mercato:

“There are several clubs keeping close tracks on Lunin. I think there is also interest from Austria’s RB Salzburg. Inter and Leicester are keeping tabs on the player.”

Lunin has already earned one international cap for Ukraine, and certainly has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Luhansk's goalkeeper Andriy Lunin controls the ball during the UEFA Europa League football match Ostersund FK v Zorya Lugansk on November 23, 2017 in Ostersund, Sweden.

Standing at 6ft 3in, the 19-year-old cuts an imposing physique, and his large frame enables him to command his penalty area with authority.

He is also a wonderful shot stopper, and is seemingly perfectly built for the robust nature of the Premier League.

Lunin is valued at just £1.8 million, according to Transfer Markt, and that would represent excellent value in today’s day and age.
