Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa all have finished in the Championship playoffs.

Leeds United have booked their place in the top six of the Championship this season, but it is not yet clear which team Marcelo Bielsa’s side will face in the playoffs.

The West Yorkshire outfit are third in the Championship table at the moment, with just one more round of matches left in the ‘regular’ season.

If Leeds finish third, then they will face Derby County, Middlesbrough or Bristol City in the Championship playoff semi-final.

If the Whites end up fourth, then they will take on Dean Smith’s Aston Villa for a place in the Championship playoff.

Villa have been in superb form of late, and their late surge has seen them finish in the top six of the Championship table.

Former Leeds midfielder Andrew Hughes believes that Leeds should not fear Villa, but has warned the Whites against West Brom.

The Whites will not face West Brom in the Championship playoff semi-finals, but the two sides could lock horns with each other in the final for a place in the Premier League next season.

Hughes said on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6:11pm, May 3, 3019): “Villa have been on a fabulous run. I just don’t know if that run’s coming to an end now. The ones that I am fearing are West Brom. No one’s talking about West Brom.”
