Andrew Gutman has reacted philosophically to leaving Celtic on loan.

The 22-year-old defender only joined Celtic on a three-and-a-half year deal in January, but has now moved to Charlotte Independence in North America.

Gutman, who also had a trial with Rangers before signing for the Hoops last month, didn’t kick a ball under Brendan Rodgers during his short-lived stint in Glasgow.

But if his Instagram activity is anything to go by, the youngster is looking on the bright side.

Gutman posted a photo of himself wearing an Independence kit and hinted that he hopes to return to Parkhead after writing ‘God’s plan doesn’t happen overnight’ in the caption.

Celtic’s official website didn’t reveal how long the loan was for.

His fellow American Manny Perez also joined the Bhoys in January and has also returned to North America on loan.

The right-back joined USL side North Carolina FC.
