Mark Warburton’s Glasgow Rangers side were held to a goalless draw by the Staggies at Ibrox.

Andrew Davies has told the Daily Record that Ross County have every chance of finishing above Rangers in the Scottish Premiership this season, and insisted that playing at Ibrox no longer carries a fear factor for opposition teams.
The Staggies managed to hold Mark Warburton’s men to a goalless draw at the weekend to ensure that the Gers were unable to gain any ground on Celtic at the top of the table.

But with the weekend finishing with the Light Blues situated in fifth, Davies has hinted that Warburton’s side may not prove to be the Hoops’ nearest challengers by suggesting that Jim McIntyre’s men have the ability to finish above them.
“We can finish above Rangers, I don’t see why we can’t,” he told the Record.
“We have a belief we can compete with teams like Rangers and Saturday’s game was a prime example.

“I don’t think there is fear coming to Ibrox. My team-mates and I play in Scotland to perform at places such as that.”
Despite suggesting that Ross could finish above Rangers this season, Davies would go on to praise the performance of both sides following their stalemate.
“We didn’t crumble in front of 50,000 people and I don’t know how many of the lads had played in front of that sort of crowd before. It was a tough day. Rangers played really well, especially the way they moved the ball,” he added.
Davies believes Ibrox has lost its fear factor
Rangers’ struggles appear to have been down to the fact that away sides have looked to frustrate them by defending resolutely.
And while they had the quality to unlock teams in the Scottish Championship, they have unsurprisingly found it more difficult following their promotion to the top flight.
And with other teams in the division looking on as the likes of Hamilton and Ross County come away from Ibrox with a share of the points having soaked up a tremendous amount of pressure, Warburton will know that his side need to quickly find a way to break opponents down, otherwise they could be set for several more frustrating afternoons in the coming weeks, and Davies’ suggestion about where they may finish may begin to look entirely possible.
