Leeds United are said to be interested in Real Betis midfielder Andres Guardado.

Leeds United could make history by bringing Andres Guardado to Elland Road during the January transfer window.

According to El Gol Digital Leeds are set to make a move for Guardado next month, as they feel the Real Betis man could aid their squad.

And if Guardado was to arrive at Elland Road he would make history, as he would be the first Mexican to ever sign for Leeds.

The Whites have never before had a player from Mexico in their team, and he would add to their cosmopolitan squad, if he was to join.

Despite the interest, it remains to be seen whether Leeds will make a move for Guardado.

Betis reportedly want £5.2 million for the midfielder, which is an expensive price given his age.

Guardado is now 31-years-old, and would have little re-sale value if he was to move to Yorkshire.

If Guardado did make the switch to Leeds, he would be in competition with the likes of Eunan O’Kane, Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira for a place in Thomas Christiansen’s first-team.
