Everton are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window.

Andrei Kanchelskis has ordered former side Everton to complete deals for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and Manchester United defender Phil Jones, when speaking in an interview with BetStars.

Everton manager Sam Allardyce was quoted as praising Wilshere by TalkSPORT, who has rejected a new contract at Arsenal while The Times claim Allardyce wants to reunite with Jones after their time together at Blackburn Rovers.

Wilshere, 26, has returned to have somewhat of an impact at Arsenal this season after being loaned to Bournemouth last term. But his contract ends in the summer and will be allowed to leave on a free transfer.

Jack Wilshere of Arsenal waves after the UEFA Europa League quarter final leg one match between Arsenal FC and CSKA Moskva at Emirates Stadium on April 5, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

Powerhouse defender Jones has struggled this season and remains in a constant battle for game time with Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling. Kanchelskis believes both players would boost Everton’s 2018-19 campaign.

“Yes of course they need some new players in the team,” Kanchelskis said, when asked if Wilshere and Jones would be good signings at Everton.

“If you buy some quality players like Wilshere and Jones then you have a good chance to reach top five, top six in the league and these players will help. We need some new fresh blood in the squad.”

Everton already boast an abundance of central midfielders in the likes of Tom Davies, Idrissa Gueye, Wayne Rooney, James McCarthy and Morgan Schneiderlin, so a move for Wilshere may see Allardyce axe a current Toffee.

Centre-back does need improving, though. Michael Keane has failed to live up to expectations this term, while Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams are both well into their thirties.

Everton are next in action on Saturday as they play host to bitter Mereseyside rivals Liverpool at Goodison Park.
