Andrei Kanchelskis has told Bwin that Everton star Richarlison must learn to control his frustration when things are not going his way.

Richarlison, 21, has starred for the Toffees since joining the club from Watford for a fee believed to be in the region of £50million – which saw manager Marco Silva raid his old side for the Brazilian.

The versatile attacker has scored eight goals in 14 Premier League appearances and has since broken into Brazil’s senior side, scoring three goals in six caps for his country.

But former Everton winger Kanchelskis believes Richarlison must keep his aggression under control if he is to reach the next step in his career, which saw him sent off against Bournemouth earlier in the season.

“Richarlison has started well, but he needs to be consistent if he wants to progress to the next level,” Kanchelskis said. “He’s got bags of ability and is eager to impress, but he needs to control his frustration when things aren’t going his way.

“There’s no doubt that there is a lot of potential to be unlocked with him, which I think Silva can do.”

Silva has converted Richarlison into a striker since the Brazilian moved to Merseyside, after the Portuguese manager used him as a winger during his time at Vicarage Road.

Richarlison will be looking to add to his eight-goal tally when Everton go up against Manchester City on Saturday, in what will be a tough game for the Toffees.
