West Ham United are reportedly keen on Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira.
West Ham United could be in the market for another midfielder in January, and fans should be hugely excited by the latest name linked with a move.
The Hammers brought in Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez over the summer, but both are currently injured, meaning we could see another option brought in during the January transfer window.
Now, The Mirror report that West Ham are keen on signing Manchester United midfielder Andres Pereira, with a January loan deal potentially in the pipeline.
Pereira, 22, has struggled for playing time with United this season, and may be looking to head out on loan again in January after recent stints with Granada and Valencia.
The Brazilian playmaker has undoubted talent but doesn’t appear to be a favourite for Jose Mourinho, with West Ham a much better fit right now given how Manuel Pellegrini is pushing a real attacking brand of football.
A loan deal may not seem that exciting, but it’s added that Pereira has snubbed a three-year deal to stay at Old Trafford, and whilst United have a one-year option on his deal, which expires this summer, a permanent summer exit may be in his plans.
By taking him on loan, West Ham may be able to position themselves as the perfect club for Pereira to commit to long-term, and allow him to flourish alongside fellow Brazilian Felipe Anderson.
Technically-gifted with real skill and passing ability, Pereira could be the central playmaker West Ham lack without Manuel Lanzini – and if Pellegrini can pull this off, West Ham will have made a very exciting signing indeed.
