Andrea Radrizzani is a very popular figure at Leeds United.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Leeds United owner Andrea Radriazzani has called on the club’s fans to be patient as the Whites look to win promotion to the Premier League.
It will be Radrizzani’s first season at Leeds since buying out Massimo Cellino and the Italian businessman has done a plethora of work on and off the field to excite supporters this summer.
In addition to hiring Thomas Christiansen as head coach, the United supremo has funded moves for nine new players, in addition to plenty of other talents for the Under-23 side.
Not only that, but Radrizzani hugely enhanced his reputation among Leeds fans by buying back Elland Road last month, after the club sold the stadium in 2004 due to their financial woes.
All things considered, the future looks very bright at the Yorkshire club, who will be expected to mount a serious challenge for Premier League promotion after their recruitment drive.
And although Radrizzani feels that such pressure is “positive”, the 42-year-old did stress the importance of patience by mentioning that Rome was not built in a day.
He told BBC Sport: “For me this [the pressure] is positive.
“I don’t see it as a bad thing, but it’s also important that fans acknowledge that we’re building a project and Rome wasn’t built in a day. We need time and if we cannot make it [promotion] this year, we make it next year.”
United, who were five points shy of a playoff spot last season under Monk, begin their quest to the Premier League on Sunday with a trip to Bolton Wanderers.
