Leeds United have not played in the Premier League since 2004.

Andrea Radrizzani, Owner of Leeds United (3R) looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has told Sky Sports that he is both excited and fearful about the 2018-19 campaign.

The West Yorkshire outfit endured a disappointing 2017-18 season in the Championship.

Although the Whites started the campaign strongly, the former Premier League outfit faded away in the second half.

Leeds could finish only 13th in the Championship table last season, and the Elland Road faithful will expect the team to challenge for the playoffs this campaign.

Club owner Radrizzani has stated that the team’s aim this season is to finish in the top six of the Championship.

The Italian businessman has also admitted that he is both excited and fearful about the season ahead.

Radrizzani told Sky Sports: “We are Leeds United and we need to compete for the top. I think the play-offs are the target and if we are not able to achieve this it is not a good season for sure.”

The Italian businessman added: “I feel fear and excitement at the same time. Last year I only had excitement but now because of the unsuccessful season I feel fear and excitement.”

Excitement ahead

Leeds have appointed Marcelo Bielsa as their new head coach, and the fans must be hugely excited.

The Whites do have some very good players, and the signing of Lewis Baker on loan from Premier League club Chelsea will only make the midfield department stronger.
