Pep Clotet has left Leeds United and has become the Oxford United manager.

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a message to Pep Clotet.

Clotet has left his role as the Leeds assistant manager and has taken charge of League One club Oxford United.

The 40-year-old Spaniard was appointed in the role at Elland Road in the summer of 2016, and he was an important figure in the West Yorkshire outfit having a wonderful 2016-17 campaign.

The Whites were in the running for a playoff spot in the Championship until the final weeks of the season and narrowly failed to break into the top six.

Leeds chairman Radrizzani has thanked Clotet for his contribution to the club, while Andy Couzens, who played for the Whites in the 1990s, has wished the Spanish coach the best of luck at the Kassam Stadium.

Leeds will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship yet again next season, and the Elland Road faithful should be confident and optimistic.
