Leeds United have signed Vurnon Anita on a free transfer.
Leeds United have this evening confirmed the signing of former Newcastle United man Vurnon Anita – and owner Andrea Radrizzani has taken to Twitter to react.
The Whites had already secured the signatures of Felix Wiedwald, Madger Gomes, Mateusz Klich and Hadi Sacko, and have now snapped up their fifth new face of the summer.

Leeds tonight announced that free agent Vurnon Anita has joined the club, penning a three-year deal at Elland Road after his contract with Newcastle wasn’t renewed at the end of last season.
Anita, 28, came up through the ranks of Ajax’s famed academy, and he made more than 150 appearances for the Amsterdam giants before joining Newcastle in 2012.
The Dutchman, who has earned four caps for the Dutch national team, played more than 150 games for the Magpies, playing an important role in the club’s promotion back to the Premier League earlier this year.
However, Rafael Benitez chose not to Anita a new contract, and with his deal expiring earlier this summer, he has now decided to pen a deal with Leeds.

Anita’s versatility will be useful for new manager Thomas Christiansen, as he can play at right back or in holding midfield, whilst he brings vast experience despite still only being 28.
After the deal was confirmed, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani took to Twitter to react to the deal, sending a message to Anita by wishing him all the best at Elland Road and hoping for success during his time with the Whites.
