Leeds United get their season underway on Sunday afternoon.
Andrea Radrizzani has told BBC Sport that Leeds United are “definitely” ready to rock and roll this season.
Leeds kick off their Championship campaign with a trip to newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers on Sunday but it is difficult to gauge how the Whites will fare during the 2017-18 campaign.
United have undergone a major overhaul on and off the field in recent months, with Radrizzani, who bought out Massimo Cellino in May, hiring Thomas Christiansen as head coach and plenty of other coaches both at senior and Under-23 level.
In addition to that, Leeds and new Director of Football Victor Orta have also made nine signings this summer – seven of which were not at Elland Road last season – and there is a sense of big change as a result of all the arrivals.
Nevertheless, Radrizzani is certain that the Yorkshire club are fully prepared for what promises to be another hectic Championship season, with hopefully more highs than lows from their perspective.
Asked by BBC Sport if Leeds are ready to go this season, he instantly responded: “Yes, definitely.
“I only took full control of the club on May 25 so there’s been 60 days of hard work for myself, the management and the team. I think we are ready to start.”
Leeds, under Garry Monk, finished seventh in the Championship last season when it looked certain that they would at least secure a playoff spot.
But one victory from their last eight matches scuppered their dream of Premier League promotion, and Radrizzani added that a spot in the top six was a “minimum requirement” for Christiansen this time around.
“We need to compete at the top of the league and be in the top six. A play-off place is the minimum requirement. Last year we had a good season but failed at the beginning and the end.”
