Leeds United remain in the hunt for promotion under Marcelo Bielsa.
Leeds United took a step closer to the Premier League on Tuesday night – and one TV star over in America praised Marcelo Bielsa.
The White beat Preston North End 2-0 at Deepdale, as Patrick Bamford struck twice after the hosts were reduced to 10 men with Ben Pearson’s red card.
Leeds moved back up to second place in the Championship table with that win, and remain in a two-horse fight for the second automatic promotion spot alongside Sheffield United.
Whilst Leeds fans were celebrating a vital win, Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was on Jimmy Kimmel Live in America – and had plenty to say about Bielsa.
Dane Coster-Waldau is a well-known Leeds fans and a member of the Leeds United Supporters Trust, and whilst he’s being constantly asked about the new series of Game of Thrones, he managed to hail Bielsa in the process.
Coster-Waldau tricked the crowd into thinking he was talking about a new character called ‘Bielsa’ being the chosen one in Game of Thrones, because he would magically transform the north into a ‘wonderful paradise’.
“Everyone thinks the chosen one is Jon Snow but there’s also this thing about this guy called Bielsa,” said Coster-Waldau. “He’s a guy who comes and magically comes and transforms this world for the good. When everything is lost he will come up north and magically transform it into this wonderful paradise. And then everyone says ‘in Bielsa we trust’,” he added.
Unsurprisingly, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani took to Twitter to respond to the video, admitting that everyone does trust in Bielsa as Coster-Waldau suggested, and admitted he hoped to see the TV star at a home game very soon.
