Leeds United’s Under-18 won the PDL North Division title on Saturday.

Andrea Radrizzani, Owner of Leeds United looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Leeds United at Ashton Gate on October 21, 2017 in Bristol, England.

Leeds United’s first team may not have had the greatest 2018, but their Under-18’s have been showing them how it’s done.

The Whites did beat Barnsley 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, but that’s just three wins since the turn of the year, and manager Paul Heckingbottom will be requiring an overhaul this summer.

However, Leeds’ Under-18’s have been excelling this term, and enjoyed a day they will remember on Saturday afternoon with their 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers.

That may not seem too incredible in itself, but that win handed Leeds Under-18’s the PDL North Division title, and players celebrated being named champions.

Leeds have long had a reputation for bringing through young players, with Premier League stars such as Lewis Cook, James Milner, Fabian Delph, Aaron Lennon and Danny Rose have all passed through the Leeds academy on their way to becoming England internationals.

With Kalvin Phillips, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Ronaldo Vieira, Conor Shaughnessy and Tom Pearce in and around the Leeds first team, the Whites are continuing their commitment to youth – and Andrea Radrizzani has hailed the current crop of youngsters.

Owner Radrizzani took to Twitter on Saturday in order to send a message to the Leeds Under-18 side, congratulating all involved before predicting that more trophies are waiting for the Leeds youngsters.
