Was Leeds United’s performance against Sunderland better than their display against Bristol City?

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has suggested to The Daily Mail that the team’s performance against Bristol City at the weekend was not their best so far this season.

The West Yorkshire outfit returned to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday afternoon, as they got the better of City 3-0 away from home at the Ashton Gate Stadium.

The win saw the Whites bring an end to their run of three successive defeats in the Championship and got their playoff challenge back on track.

The performance of Thomas Christiansen’s side against City was brilliant, but Leeds chairman Radrizzani has suggested that there was one game in which the team played better – the 2-0 win against Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light in the Championship on August 19.

“I am very happy that the team came back from three defeats with a good performance,” Radrizzani told The Daily Mail.

“They fought together, they were united and they were really determined to bring home the three points. I wouldn’t say it was the best performance since I took over.

“We have had other very good performances like at Sunderland but after three defeats we needed to win psychologically as well as to earn the three points so I am pleased with the result.”

The win against City must have enhanced the confidence of the Leeds players, who will now be determined to put together a run of positive results.

The Whites will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
