Leeds United are aiming to get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Leeds United co-owner Andrea Radrizzani has told The Guardian that the current facilities at the club are very old.

Radrizzani recently acquired a 50% stake at Leeds from fellow Italian Massimo Cellino through his company, Aser Group Holding.

“I think the club has suffered too much,” Radrizzani told The Guardian. “It’s been a rollercoaster where the club has been in and out of different ownership.

“Unfortunately, if you are in the Championship, you need to deal with the fact you are not making money and the revenue stream is very low.

“So you need to have a good recruitment system, because probably it is necessary to sometimes sell players to a bigger league. This allows you to have progression and investment in the infrastructure.

“At the moment the infrastructure is very old – in terms of management, services, and facilities.”

Leeds have not featured in the Premier League since 2004 and in recent years had become also-rans in the Championship.

The Whites, though, are going strong in the league at the moment and are genuine playoff contenders.

The West Yorkshire outfit are currently third in the Championship table with 48 points from 26 matches.

Leeds are six points behind second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion, who have a game in hand.

Garry Monk’s side will return to action on Saturday evening when they take on Barnsley away from home at Oakwell in the Championship.

While Radrizzani has a point about the infrastructure at Leeds being very old, things could only get better.

If the Whites are able to get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season, then they would have more revenue, which could be used to make the facilities better.
