England’s Women’s football team made history this weekend by winning their first European Championship title at a packed-out Wembley Stadium.
Fans across England were overjoyed by the Women’s team’s triumph, and many were quipping that some of the Lionesses could do a job in the Premier League.
One of the ladies who caught the eye was Rachel Daly. England’s left-back put in a real shift throughout the tournament, and the Harrogate-born full-back was a player the Leeds United fanbase took a real shine to.
Indeed, as a local girl, Daly grew up as a Leeds fan, and with the Whites lacking some serious depth at left-back right now, one fan joked online that Leeds should sign her up, sharing a video of the 30-year-old singing Marching on Together.
This tweet may have just been a bit of fun, but it caught the eye of Leeds’ owner, Andrea Radrizzani who liked the tweet.

Daly can’t come in and compete with Junior Firpo at left-back, but with Radrizzani also owning Leeds United Ladies, perhaps this is one to keep an eye on in the coming years.
Daly did actually come through the Leeds academy as a young girl, but as with many female footballers, she headed to the USA to make her name.
Unfortunately, Leeds’ women’s team aren’t currently anywhere near the pinnacle of the female game – playing their football in the Women’s National League, so Daly is probably an unattainable target, but after Euro 2022, Leeds may well look to invest more heavily into their female side and attempt to get them into the Women’s Super League.
If the West Yorkshire outfit are looking to grow their women’s side, don’t be surprised if Daly ends up playing for the Whites in a couple of years’ time.
