Andrea Radrizzani has taken to Twitter to poke fun at the reported collapse of the European Super League after news broke on Tuesday evening.
The Super League came and went within a 48 hour period, and it seems as though a ball will never be kicked in the breakaway competition.
Radrizzani has vocally opposed the Super League during this time, tweeting his disdain for the idea, while his team wore shirts opposing the project.
Fortunately, it seems as though the project won’t come to fruition, and Radrizzani has come up with a new name for the competition.
The One Day League does have a ring to it, and perhaps that’s how we should remember this whole debacle.
If we’re being honest, there was never anything ‘super’ about this league, and the fact that it came and went within a day is how it should be remembered rather than as being ‘super’.
Fortunately, this idea has been put to bed quickly, and we can now get on with watching the sport we all know and love.
