Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani explains his recent remarks.

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has explained his recent comments about investment in the club to the Championship outfit’s official website.

In a recent interview with The Times, Radrizzani said that there are interested parties to invest in Leeds.

The Italian businessman also suggested that he could “open the door to others” when the West Yorkshire outfit are in the Premier League.

It was an extensive interview, and Radrizzani has explained his comments to the Leeds official website.

Radrizzani told Leeds’s official website: “Yes I would love to clarify as I think my words were taken in a different context. Because of the job we have done in the last two or three years, we have attracted a lot of interest.

“Obviously the club has modernised on a lot of levels, which is shown by our revenues which have increased a lot to over £50m. Our attendance is the top of the league, the club has modernised the media, we have partnerships with Amazon, Wish and Deliveroo, so big corporate companies are starting to work with Leeds and before my arrival this was impossible even to think.

“We have to be proud of the club and the fact we are attractive to potential investors. When and if we will open discussions completely is another story.

“It depends on the right moment, where I believe we need support to build the club bigger than what we could do with our own resources.”

Back to the Premier League

Radrizzani has been very good for Leeds, with the Whites progressing both on the pitch and off it under the Italian businessman.

The Whites finished third in the Championship table last season and are aiming to win automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds have a strong team, and with Marcelo Bielsa in charge, the Elland Road faithful should be confident of a very successful campaign indeed.

Perhaps next season Leeds will be playing Premier League football for the first time since 2004.
