Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has lauded Wilfried Gnonto following the Italian international’s incredible debut year in the Premier League.

Speaking to DAZN via TuttoMercatoWeb, the Italian businessman revealed that he is a huge fan of the 19-year-old attacker having signed the youngster from FC Zurich in the summer, with Gnonto one of the breakout players in England’s top division this campaign.

Radrizzani said when asked about his opinion on the teenage Italian wonderkid: “I love him, he’s Italian and he is an exceptional boy. It’s difficult to find a 19-year-old Italian who speaks four languages very well and has such an open mind.”

With two goals and an assist already this season, Radrizzani’s praise for Gnonto is more than justified, with the former Zurich star taking the Premier League by storm with his dynamic performances for Leeds and being a leading light for the Yorkshire side,

Moreover, with Leeds signing Gnonto for as little as £4m as reported by the Daily Mail, the Whites have secured arguably the bargain of the season in the 19-year-old attacker, who could become an icon for the Whites or be sold on for ten times his original transfer fee in the years to come.

Indeed, Gnonto has quickly become a fan favourite at Elland Road. And if Leeds remain in the Premier League come the end of this season, the Italian international will deserve a lot of credit for keeping the Whites up in what has been a difficult year for the Yorkshire side.

It takes something special for the Leeds faithful to fall so deeply in love with a certain name, yet Gnonto is exactly that sort of player that has made Elland Road pur this season, and Radrizzani’s comments will resonate with the majority of supporters.

The Italian wonderkid has been nothing short of a miracle for Leeds, and whilst the club’s future might one day not feature Gnonto, Radrizzani’s support for the teenager will resonate with many supporters, who have welcomed the forward with open arms since the start of this season.
