Andre Villas-Boas is emerged as the new second favourite to become Everton’s next manager with Sky Bet.

Villas-Boas, the former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur boss, was 20/1 to succeed Sam Allardyce as recently as Monday morning.

But the Portuguese has seen his odds shorten rapidly to 5/1 – at the time of writing – surpassing a host of names, including Unai Emery, Louis van Gaal and David Moyes.

Marco Silva, Manager of Watford looks on prior to the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on November 5, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Marco Silva remains the bookmaker’s heavy favourite at 2/5, although reports suggest that Everton’s attempts to appoint the ex Watford and Hull City manager may not be straightforward.

Everton sacked Allardyce after less than six months in charge last week, after the former England boss failed to endear himself to the Goodison Park faithful.

Villas-Boas, who impressed the late Sir Bobby Robson as an aspiring coach, worked as Jose Mourinho’s assistant before landing roles as a number one with Académica, Porto, Chelsea, Spurs, Zenit St Petersburg and Shanghai SIPG.

Could/should Everton consider Villas-Boas?
