Aston Villa winger Andre Green was recently on loan at League One side Portsmouth.
Andre Green has sent his best wishes to Portsmouth on Twitter after Aston Villa opted to end his season-long loan spell at the League One club.
Villa confirmed on their official Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that the 20-year-old has made an early return to the Championship side.
Following that key decision by the Midlands outfit, winger Green took to his personal Twitter account to send a message to Pompey as he thanked them for their support.
During his time with Kenny Jackett’s side, Green scored five goals in all competitions, including back-to-back injury-time winners in the FA Cup.
The Villa academy product most recently netted a last gasp goal against Championship high-flyers Norwich City to knock them out of England’s oldest domestic competition.
Now, he will return to B6 where he will be looking to impress his new manager, Dean Smith who took charge three months after he departed for the south coast club.
Smith’s side, who have a plethora of attacking players on their books, host Nigel Adink’s Hull City on Saturday, with the Yorkshire outfit on a six-game winning run.
In Villa’s previous encounter, their 3-0 defeat at Wigan, Everton loanee Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El Ghazi played in the wide roles as Green has a tough task in breaking into the starting XI.
At this moment in time, the likes of Jonathan Kodjia, Albert Adomah, Bolasie and El Ghazi are ahead of him in the pecking order as Villa aim to close the gap on the Championship’s top six.
